Jiranis Food, a Kenyan online food start-up has emerged as the winner of the World Tourism Organization’s Gastronomy challenge in the category of social impact.
In announcing the 5 finalists for the 2nd UNWTO Gastronomy Tourism start up challenge, the UN World Tourism body also announced Jiranis Food as the winner in the Social Impact Category.

Jiranis food is Platform that allows local communities in Africa share authentic local food and cuisine experiences. The platform intends to support specifically the conservation of local ingredients and the relationship between culture, heritage, gastronomy, tourism and economic growth across Africa starting in Kenya.
The Gastronomy Tourism start-up competition is global initiative that aims to identify start-ups with the greatest potential to outline the future and promote sustainable innovation in the tourism and gastronomy sector.
